when i produce this report it list the facts in chronological order but the "go to record" button shows all the facts grouped together ie all the residence at different dates is listed together

how do i get this report to group the facts together

funny thing is that it did that when i previously produced this report

I am not sure what you mean by the Go To Record button or where you are viewing Facts grouped together.
Are you looking in the Records Window or in the Property Box on the All tab or where?

Anyway, the Individual Summary Report always lists Individual Events and Attributes in chronological order.
That is similar to the Facts tab of the Property Box when sorted by the Date column which is the default.
The Facts tab can be sorted alphabetically by Fact Label by clicking the Fact column header.
Also, on the All tab, the Facts can be rearranged into groups by using the up/down arrow keys.
However, neither of those adjustments will affect the Individual Summary Report and never have.

The Publish > Record Detail Reports > Record Detail - Individuals will list the data exactly as held in the GEDCOM file similar to the All tab, but it is a very different style.

Could you provide some screenshots of what you are seeing and attach an old Report with Facts grouped together?

the report that you suggested does give me the layout that i am looking for

the go to button i mentioned is the one that takes me to the records window

i am certain that i had a individual summary report in alphabetical order but not to bother as the record detail - individuals gives me what i want

i think that i know why the older individual summary report listed the facts in analphabetic order

it was printed in march 2009

i have had a new version since then

That was FH V3 but it did NOT automatically group facts alphabetically.
However, it did use the GEDCOM order, i.e. All tab order of the facts, rather than automatically sort by date.
So if you manually grouped them together on the All tab then that is how they were reported.

When did you upgrade to FH V5 ?

Or did you actually go ahead and upgrade to FH V6 ?
