Diagram box Text Scheme Editing

Post by rlparsons » 12 Apr 2020 05:33

First time I’ve ventured into manipulating the text content of diagram boxes so wallowing a bit!

When I go into “Diagram>>Diagram Options>>Text” and select “Birth, Marr, Death, Occups + notes” as the text scheme to use, the marriage info only appears in one spouses box (which I want in order to minimise box sizes etc.). However, selecting “All Events and Attributes, and Rec Notes” puts the marriage info into both spouses boxes.
How do I edit “All Events and Attributes, and Rec Notes” (or any other text scheme) to show conditional info such as placing the marriage note in only one box?

The All Events and Attributes scheme is a special case, so you can't customise it much. Most others you can control each line and which box it appears in.

As you progress through each dialogue from Diagram > Options > Text tab, to Edit Text Scheme, and Edit Text Scheme Item, etc, click the Help button to get associated advice.

Before editing any of the standard installed Text Schemes it is wise to use the Clone button to create a custom copy to Edit, keeping the standard version as a reference.
