pictures import into report

Post by Jan Gleusteen »

Hi,
I use FH 6 and have the next question:

For one Residence I have 8 pictures from the inside of that Residence.
I put the residence under Facts in the prop. box
and imported these pictures into the media under Facts and the Residence concerned.
After that I can see those pictures.

But if I make a personal narrative report I only see two pictures from the eight.
I am sure I am doing something wrong.
Is there anybody who can give me the steps to import those pictures in the correct way so I can put and see those pictures in the narrative report?

Regards,

Jan

For each report there is an option to specify the number of images to show under options for the root of the report, spouses and others.

Hope that helps.

Jan, this is related to the Report > Options that you discovered earlier.

It is odd that only 2 out of 8 pictures are shown as the default is to show 5 pictures for Other as shown in the screenshot in the last post. You must increase that to 8 to include all your pictures.

If the default To the Right of the Text still applies, then 3 of the missing pictures may be on the next page.

Click the Help button on that Report > Options > Pictures tab for advice.

I discovered when I have two pictures in the individual report and add a new one, there will be one picture removed so it stays with two pictures.
In the report>Options>Pictures I changed the quantity of pictures but nothing changed.
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?

So just to be certain, you have set all three Max Pics numbers to a large value such as 9.

Are all the other Pictures tab settings the same as in the earlier screenshot?

All the pictures will be in a column down the right-hand side of the pages.

How many pages are there in your Report? The Total: pages is show top right as in the earlier screenshot.
Tick Two Pages and a pair of pages will be shown side by side.

The vertical scroll bar on the far right-hand margin will scroll through all the pages.
The inner vertical scroll bar will only scroll within the current page.

Are your 'missing' pictures on Page 2 or Page 3?

Thank you for your assistance.
I discovered when I put those pictures with another person in FH it works very well.
So probably something is wrong with an earlier input in FH with the concerned person.
Now I know this problem is just with one person, I"ll remove all the facts and pictures from that one and make a fresh input with facts and pictures.

I have found the cause of the problem.
As address I used attribute instead of event.
Now I have changed it, everything works again.

Sorry Jan, can you explain in a bit more detail.
It should make no difference whether you use Attributes or Events. They should both work the same way.
There must be some other explanation.

Yes you are right.
Afterwards I discovered the FH didn't save the date of birth of the same person.
If I put in the birthdate, you could see it but at once it disappeared.
I repeated it different times without success.
After that I have removed all the facts and pictures for that person and started again.
The I could save the birthdate and put in the facts with pictures. Everything is working properly!
It was only with this person.
So if there is a problem again with the pictures and Facts, I''ll email again.
Now it isn't possible to look after the cause of the problem because I removed everything from that person and started again.

Regards,

Jan
