* Pictures in Reports

i am using Version 6

My question concerns the use of pictures in reports.
I know how to exclude media from publications in the Links Field and how to select the number and category of pictures in the Report Options Box but I do not know how to select specific pictures for Individual Summary reports. FH seems to make the choice for me.

I would also like to know whether it is possible to position each picture next to the relevant text.

The pictures are selected by Priority which can be set on the Media tab for Record level pictures.
You can also omit pictures from reports, by ticking the exclude from reports on the media link.

You can't currently keep fact level pictures with the facts to which they apply.

Thank you for replying to this. I am still having trouble acquiring pictures for my reports.

I have sorted my pictures by priority,
I have excluded from "all Publications" those that I do not want,
I have linked my pictures to the relevant individual,
I have used the "Pictures" tab in the report dialogue box to select the required number of pictures in the "Other" category and I have ticked both boxes in the "Other Picture Types" category.

To give an example:
I have an ancestor who lived in eight different places and I have pictures for six of them.

In The Pictures tab I have selected "1" for the "Individual Type" and this appears.

I have selected"6" for the "Other" box but only three pictures appear. As far as I can ascertain the links for all six are the same.

I'm sorry that this is a long-winded query but I must be doing something wrong somewhere.

Hi Rhoda.
It would help us if you described the actual commands you used to achieve things.
So, for example, you say you "have linked my pictures to the relevant individual".
But which commands did you use, or what commands do you use now to show those pictures?
e.g.
In the Individual Property Box do you use the Media tab to see pictures linked to the person, or do you use the Facts tab Show Media button to see pictures linked to a Fact?
Presumably, you use both, but how pictures are there in those two categories that should appear in the Report?

You say you have sorted pictures by Pref priority, but that only applies to the Media tab mentioned above and NOT the Show Media button. So that suggests you have several pictures linked to the person, NOT to Facts.

In the Report > Options > Pictures tab try increasing the Max Pics for Individual.
Does that reveal your missing pictures?

How many Pages does the Report have? That is shown top right as Total:.
Have you checked all the Pages for pictures?
