Fact Title Problem

Post by ColinMc » 23 Feb 2020 14:59

I've ended up with an odd error and I can't see how to correct it (short of deleting the fact and re-adding it.)

I entered a death using AS, and the husband was entered as a witness. However in his timeline, it is appearing as "Birth/Death of Wife Christina zzzzzz".

I can't remember if there was a fact in existence before I added the death in AS, although I could check on a back-up.

The Sentence appears, correct and it is yellow. The witness dialog also seems OK. Using Find does not locate the zzzzzz, suggesting it must be generated rather than input.

I suspect you have no Fact Witness definition for the Role of Informant.
This was discussed at length recently in Scottish Birth Certificate Fact Creation (17349).

Managed to get back to this issue. As I was heavily involved in the topic you linked to, I would have been disappointed if it was as simple as that.

As far as I can see, it looks as it should do.

The image does not show the whole text, so here it is.

Code: Select all

{individual} died <of '{cause}'> {date} <at {address},> {place} {age}. <The attending doctor was {role(single)=doctor}. ><The attending doctors were {role(plural)=doctor}. ><{role=minister} was in attendance. ><{role=priest} was in attendance. ><{role=rabbi} was in attendance. ><The death was registered by {role=informant}. ><The death was witnessed by {role=witness}. ><para>
To test it, I entered (using FH, not AS) an additional death for the wife. As you can see, her sentence worked correctly, as did his, but his fact tab was wrong.

I then created a new Fact called Death 2 and copied all the settings from the original Death Fact by cutting and pasting. I did not create all the witness roles, just the Informant one. I then added another death and his fact tab appeared correctly for the Death 2 fact

Puzzling?

In the Edit Role dialogue for Informant, what is customised on the Advanced... button?
I suspect you have set a Facts tab Template.

That's it, problem solved. There was a strange override text in there!

Thanks
