Hello!
I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 a couple of weeks ago and I have subsequently lost the fantastic hints to Findmypast and My Heritage (and possibly other features I haven't noticed yet). Is it OK simply to download the upgrade again or if not what should I do?
Thanks.

Do you mean you are not seeing the green 'hints' circles in the Focus window? Or that nothing happens when you click on one of them?
Your FH settings should not have been affected if you simply upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on the same computer. However, in Family Historian check Tools > Preferences > Internet Data Matches. Automatic Matching should be set to Enabled for both FindMyPast and MyHeritage.
If you are seeing the hints circles but cannot view the hints when you click on them, try switching Location to Display Matches from Web Search Window to External Web Browser.

Re: Lost some functions when upgrading from Windows 7 to 10
Hello again!
Thanks for the replies. I upgraded on the same PC. The hints aren't showing so I've done as you suggest Lorna. The Internet Data Matches shows the following:
Findmypast Disabled (requires project) New
My Heritage Disabled (requires project) Pending (all matches)
How do I enable them please?
Thanks.
Tony
PS I bet you despair at old fogeys like me.....

Hi Tony,
The bit that says "(requires project)" provides the clue. You are opening the gedcom file as a stand-alone gedcom, perhaps by clicking on the gedcom file itself, rather than opening the whole project. As you have used the hints successfully in the past you must have a full project structure, so it's just a question of opening it the correct way.
In the Project Window of FH is your project listed? (The FH Sample Project will probably be listed there also). If it is, select it in that list and click More Tasks then Set as Default Project. Then whenever you open FH it will open the project.
If you have moved your Family Historian Projects folder to a different location, click the blue link next to Location: and Choose Location, then browse to find your Family Historian Projects folder. The project(s) should then be listed in the window and you can set the default project.
PS don't worry, I'm turning into an old fogey myself.

Clicking on the GEDCOM file correctly embedded within a Project structure will open the Project.
So Tony, you are opening some GEDCOM file that is dissociated from your Projects.
As Lorna says, you need to locate your Family Historian Projects folder.
BTW: Did you use the free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 that is still possible?
