Release of Version 7
Are we any closer to having a date available for release?
Looking forward to the new version.
Regards to all!

Re: Release of Version 7
No, FH V7 has not been released for Beta Testing yet, which I think is expected sometime in the new year.
So once you see the Beta Testing phase announced you will know the full release will follow probably in a few weeks.

Not as far as I know. There is ongoing discussion in FH7 Looks? (17520).

Re: Release of Version 7
When V7 was announced there was an "appeal" for beta testers. I offered to become one, particularly because I'm a long term Master Genealogist user with a bit of expertise with that. I received the following email in mid-November last year, and have received nothing since.
"Thank you for your offer to help test version 7 of Family Historian. Version 7 will be a major new release offering a great many new and improved features. It will be a big step forward for the program. Testing by real-world users such as yourself is called "beta testing". Nearly all serious software publishers use beta testing before releasing major new versions. It is an invaluable part of the software development process; so your help is greatly appreciated.
Beta testing has not started yet, but we have taken note of your contact details and will contact you by email when beta testing is ready to start. We will provide all the information you will need when beta testing starts."

Thank you Martin. I think that answers my question. I too came from TMG 9 and thought about opting in to assist with testing. But thought it would be oversubscribed so I didn't bother.

You are priviledged. I offered and heard nothing.
But then I cant always remember how to use the present version. Spent ages yesterday trying to find people referred to on a source or from a single place.
What I really want is a more practical on-line index to the book Getting the Most. There are far too many tiny page numbers by every topic I look for.

Re: Release of Version 7
To find those kinds of links use the View > Record Links command to just get the Individual or Family record.
To identify which Facts are linked to the Source or Place use the Where Used Record Links Plugin.
Both techniques work for any record, so make a note in your notebook.
I don't think Getting the Most from Family Historian mentions the View > Record Links command.

Thank you Mike. Yes - having read that discussion in the link FH7 Looks, I decided via a FH support ticket to ask Simon directly for an update on version 7. Seems to have done the trick
