Displaying dates of death of siblings in Properties Facts window

Having recently swapped PCs and imported (successfully I thought) FH onto a new model I was somewhat surprised to find that with some ancestors the Properties Fact was displaying siblings' deaths even before the particular relative was born.

In the Facts box James' siblings' demise are showing with James' age as -14 years etc. Looking closely there are also other family facts included in the window which I'm sure were never there before

Is there a check box I should have dealt with? It only happened with some of the relatives and never noticed it on my old PC which sadly and abruptly terminated itself, so no looking back I'm afraid.

Thanks in advance
Brian

Click the cog wheel icon in the Facts tab toolbar, and select Timeline Facts. Then you can specify which BMD facts you want to display for which relatives (Parents, Siblings, Spouses, Children, Grandchildren).

Oddly although you can set a cut-off date you can't block pre-birth events from the display. However this doesn't normally matter, because if you click Installation Settings you will see that siblings' births are not displayed by default, so you must have changed something manually.

You can of course prevent all Timeline facts from being displayed by clicking the icon to the left of the cog wheel. This toggles the display on and off.

If you just want to hide those relatives events, click the icon below the Facts that looks like a calendar with green plus.
That alternately shows/hides those Timeline Facts that are governed by the settings mentioned by Lorna.

On the FHU Mailing list we have been discussing Internet Data Matches symptoms of migrating to the new PC.
Those Timeline Fact settings and the Internet Data Matches settings are held in the Windows Registry.
On the FHU Mailing list you said you followed the how_to:family_historian_migration_guide|> Family Historian V5 & V6 Migration Guide.
At step 7) did you include the Registry Data Keys as that restore the Windows Registry settings.
If not certain, then you can repeat that step and skip all except the Registry Data Keys option.

Mike,Lorna thanks.

The spurious facts have now been tamed but unfortunately the military hints are still being a tad shy.

Specifically re-ran the restore plugin and repeated the registry data keys option - still the same result. It's not a game changer more a niggle but still a puzzle none the less.

Since the old PC disk was on its last legs, and gave up yesterday, perhaps the Windows Registry had corruptions?
Luckily as you say it is not a game changer.

Could well be the issue Mike and if that's the case I'm going to take it as getting away lightly.

I'm assuming that the backup you're invited to do when changes have been made to FH does not include registry changes that are incorporated in the Backup and Restore process when the plugin is run

Correct. FH Backups only backup Project data, i.e. the content of the Project folder.
