I've just started getting an error when I try and do this.
It seems to think that the source file is not within the Project.
Method
1. Looking at attached source in individual's property box
2. Click to Add Media
3. Insert from file
4. Navigate to file (already downloaded to the correct folder)
File is situated within folders within Media for the Project
5. Select file and click Open
6. Warning come up telling me that
'The media will be added to the current project...'
It tells me which folder the file will be copied to
However, this is the same folder that the file is in and will duplicate it.
This is not confined to a single project, it occurs on at least 3, some of which haven't been touched for a while.
I've uninstalled and re-installed FH
Something tells me that this is something quite simple and fundamental
Any help would be much appreciated..

Re: Add Media to Source - Error
Contrary to what you think, that file is NOT in the current Project folder.
That is why the dialogue to Copy File(s) to is presented by FH.
So, double-check the current Project name is actually Dave.
Use File > File Statistics and check the File Name listed matches the path to the Media folder you used for image files.
BTW: It is a little unusual for FAMILY HISTORIAN PROJECTS folder to be in capitals.

Re: Add Media to Source - Error
Hi Mike
Many thanks for your prompt response.
I double checked the file paths in File Statistics and elsewhere, and they all matched.
However, as you say, it wasn't seeing it as the same project.
So that lead me to think about why it could be seeing the same folder differentlt.
As I mentioned, I am running Windows using Parallels, so I went back to the configuration in Parallels for Windows 7 and disconnected the sharing then reconnected it.
Back into FH and all is well.
Somehow it looks as though it thought the Project was in one place, and when adding media thought it was a different location?
I've no idea what caused it, but at least it works now.
Many thanks for your help.
BTW: I use Caps for the project folder name simply so that I can easily find it amongst the hundred other folders
