Format of FactOwner

Post by RobertW » 05 Nov 2019 05:19

Is there a way to format =FactOwner(%FACT%,1,MALES_FIRST) as Surname first in a query so that the query output can be sorted alphabetically by person?

You could add a column with

Code: Select all

=GetFieldText(FactOwner(%FACT%,1,MALES_FIRST),"%INDI.NAME:SURNAME_FIRST%")
If you make the original column a buddy column and place it after this one you can make this column "live" for selection.

Yes, see how_to:sort_fact_query_on_owner_surname|> Sort Fact Query on Owner Surname.

At the end of the Details section it provides full explanation of how to implement Jane's buddy suggestion.

That's perfect. Thanks a lot to both of you.
