RCE Entries

Post by ColinMc » 01 Oct 2019 15:12

I was looking at how best to deal with RCE entries, and found the topic at Death with Corrected Entry (11978) useful.

One little question however. I therefore created
Two source records, one for the original certificate, the second for the RCE document. The death event should cite both sources.
But is best practice to link each media to each source, or simply to attach the original certificate to the first source etc.

Thanks, seems pretty insignificant, but trying to keep it simple and consistent

If you are creating two separate sources, link the image of the certificate to one source and the image of the RCE entry to the other source. Give each source a name which makes it clear which document it is. You could enter something in the note field of each source record referring to the other one, to remind yourself that the other source exists.

Thanks, that's what I had done. But confirmation is welcome.
