Today, if I start fH (wth default project) and go to almost anything, but try running a report.

No problem here, but have not performed any Windows Updates since 17th Sep.
I try to postpone Windows Updates (use the Pause updates for 7 days option) to avoid such glitches.

Should probably have waited for AskWoody's MasterPatchList (subscription service) to be updated, but I haven't had problems in years and got complacent.
Will wait for Woody's advice, and roll back if necessary.

Have you tried changing your default printer?

Default printer had vanished, but setting it hasn't helped. Program still hangs when (e.g) I try generating a custom report.
Correction: it hangs for ages and then generates a corrupted report (Heading fonts wrong).

Re: Anyone else having problems with fH?
In File > Print Setup have you tried selecting Family Historian PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF ?
OR similarly in a Report via Printer Setup on the right.
If that resolves things, then it points to a printer driver update problem, or maybe an installed Fonts problem.

Changing the printer driver doesn't fix it -- however, it does look like it might be a font problem -- a whole load of fonts have gone missing...

Re: Anyone else having problems with fH?
I just tested a short fh Individual Narrative Report for you which quickly saved and opened in MS Word - first page blank but that is no worry.
The reason I ran the test is that my old Windows 7 computer to which I am much attached and which cant be upgraded to W10 has been struggling when Word is in use along with fh and my browser.

Re: Anyone else having problems with fH?
I found my old Windows 7 (64bit) machine could struggle but upping the RAM to 4G and then to 8G solved the problems of running three heavy weight applications. (4G is the maximum addressable by 32bit Windows).
Check the documentation for upgrading your (PC's) memory; if it is reasonably self-explanatory you may find that upgrading is a job that you can do easily. If not a local computer shop should do it reasonably cheaply.

Re: Anyone else having problems with fH?
The first thing to do is run Task Manager by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESC together on any Windows PC.
Click More details and choose the Performance tab that shows % usage for CPU, Memory (RAM), Disks & Ethernet.
The CPU was rarely 90% busy, and the 3GB RAM rarely 90% full, so they were not the cause of my sluggish Windows 10 PC.
However, the C: disk drive was often 100% busy for several minutes at a time.
So I got local shop to fit a Solid State Drive (SSD) cloned from hard drive C: for £100 and it now runs much better.
