I expect it is me doing something silly but I have run the standard queries for Ancestors and All Relatives for both myself and my wife and ended up with unexpected results. I have spent some time yesterday and today before trying to do this reading the various knowledge base items and all the relatively recent forum entries but can't find what I am doing wrong.
My all relatives query returns exactly what I would expect in the query window, starting with my grandson and ending with my 9th great grandparents. The same query for my wife does likewise.
When I select all the records in either of them then "Add selected records to a named list", create a new named list and then open it, I get all records in my tree. The same happens if I select "Add row records to a named list".
If I select "save result set as a csv file" and then open the file in excel, the file shows what I want it to show. This seems to imply that the output needs saving before creating a named list, but there doesn't seem to be an option to do that.
The same result occurs when using the All Relatives query, although I haven't exported that to a csv file.
I am looking at (eventually) producing a chart and report for my cousins and my wife's sisters & cousins.
Any help welcomed!

Are you sure you have the Named List pane open in the right half of the Records Window?
i.e. Use Lists > Named List Pane to open/close the pane.

Review the Named List created and check the number of Items listed on the right.
That should be less than the number of Individuals shown bottom right on border of Records Window.
It should be the same number as the Query Window shows in Records in Result Set on bottom right border.

Thanks Mike - no i am not sure. I have clicked on the "named list pane" button on the menu bar in the records window and tried to open it from "View | Lists | named list pane" and from "Lists | Named List Pane" and none of them change the view of all 4000+ records.

The ancestors query for myself returns 137 records, that for my wife 105.

OK, I suspect that somehow the Named List pane has been reduced to zero width on the far right edge.
( Perhaps you have moved from a large monitor screen to a much smaller screen. )
Try repeatedly clicking the Named Lists Pane button on the menu bar and observe the right-hand window edge.
Can you see vertical lines appearing and disappearing against the entire right-hand edge of the main window?
That is the divider between the Records List pane and the Named List pane squashed against the edge.

When that vertical divider is shown, carefully move the cursor over it until the cursor becomes two vertical parallel lines with left and right pointing arrows, the same as when you hover the cursor over the vertical divider between the Focus Pane and docked Property Box.
With that style of cursor shown, left-click hold & drag the divider left, which should pull the Named List pane into view.

Ah - yes. That has revealed it, although I now need to try and add the other columns in (it only has name and record id at the moment). Hopefully that is a simple job for the morning. I haven't changed monitor - I suspect it is the first time for a while I have tried to use it - although I plan to get a larger monitor soon!

You can add columns in much the same way as in the main Records Window.
Why do you need extra columns, as the Named List is just a step in producing Reports and Diagrams.
So when you produce a Report in the Select Records dialogue use the Named Lists tab to choose records.
