I can't seem to see this discussed anywhere.
I am an old TMG user and liked the feature of having the birth and/or baptism date and place listed chronologically in the mother's portion of the family group sheet. There I could see the place of the birth which doubled for a residence/location for the mother at the time of the birth. Without those births included, the mother's residences are only listed every 10 years at the time of the censuses.
Otherwise I have to create an event for the mother showing the birth - and duplicate all the child birth info - and increase the chances of errors and mistakes and I would prefer not to.
Can I add this to the published family group sheet?
Thanks
Marion

Re: Including children's birth/baptism events in Family Group Sheet
First may I mention ancestralsources:index|> Ancestral Sources which is popular for capturing BMD details.
Let us consider a Birth Certificate which records the Date & Place of Birth in Column 1 and the Name & Residence of Informant in Column 7.
The Birth Place and Informant Residence may not be the same, but Ancestral Sources allows whatever you wish to be entered as the Residence of Mother (and also the Father) as well as the Birth details.
That results in a Residence fact being automatically created for the Mother (and Father) with the same Date as the Birth Event, and sharing the same Source Citation.
Similar features exist for Baptism, Marriage, Death, Burial and Census events.
If that technique is adopted, then those Residence facts will be listed in Family Group Sheets (and other Reports) chronologically amongst all the other facts of the Mother (and Father).
For your existing data, it would be possible to write a Plugin that created similar Residence facts derived from child Birth events.
In the meantime, it is possible to customise the Family Group Sheet to list all the child details you requested, but they would appear in the Wife section prior to any of her own facts.
To do that use the Report > Options > Contents tab and focus on the Family Member Main Items.
Click Add and enter a Label such as Child 1 Birth and an Expression such as:
=TextIf( Exists(%INDI.~CHIL[1]>BIRT.PLAC%), Text( Text(%INDI.~CHIL[1]>NAME%) . " " . Text(%INDI.~CHIL[1]>BIRT%)))
Similar items can be entered for Child 1 Baptism substituting BAPM for BIRT in both places.
That would be followed by similar pairs but using 2 instead of 1 everywhere, e.g. CHIL[2] for 2nd child, and so on for 3rd child, et seq.
If you only want those to appear for the Wife and not the Husband an extra condition can be added to the Expressions.
Please ask for details.
Note that the data relates to the 1st, 2nd, et seq, children from every relationship/marriage of the parent, and not just the one that is the subject of the Family Group Sheet.
Use Save Report As > Custom Report Type to preserve the customisations.
If there were an option to add Timeline Facts to Reports similar to the Facts tab would that be an alternative solution?

Thanks tatewise
I am going to have to think about all of the options, as at first glance I don't completely understand them. Being less familiar with the program, I apologize for using terms that may not be clear. Is what I summarize below correct?
1. Ancestral Sources seems like the tool to use.
It looks like it also deals with census records. I am assuming that entering all people at an address for the census will allow the wife, children and others who only have witness status, to have that residence on their own family group sheet?
I was also looking to be able to publish this aspect in the individual family group sheets.
Quickly looking at the tutorials it refers to FH3 - are the tutorials still applicable?
2. For existing data - Writing a Plugin - haven't explored that. For the effort to get it correct in FH reports - it might be worthwhile to go through the important people and re-enter some of the data through Ancestral Resources.
3. The option of customizing a report does not appear to solve the problem because the order for the mother would not be chronological.
4. Your question "If there were an option to add Timeline Facts to Reports similar to the Facts tab would that be an alternative solution? "
This seems interesting ....would it include witnesses?
Thanks

Re: Including children's birth/baptism events in Family Group Sheet
You have understood the general ideas correctly, but may need a little practice with say the Family Historian Sample Project and the Tutorials to hone your skills.
1. Ancestral Sources (AS)
See how_to:recording_census_records|> Recording from a Census Record for alternative ways to enter the data.
The recommended method is to give each household member a Census Event which will specify their residence.
All those household members are effectively principals and the use of Fact Witnesses causes your problem of having their residence details missing from most Reports.
See glossary:standard_reports|> Standard Report Types and check the summary of those you are interested in.
Currently only Narrative Reports include Fact Witnesses and none include Timeline Facts.
Although the tutorials do mention FH V3.1 they also mention FH V4.1 (or later) and FH V6.2 is fully supported.
The tutorials are also not based on the latest AS V5.2 but the concepts are essentially the same, and you will soon spot the more recent features.
2. For existing data - Writing a Plugin
Going over your data again using AS is an admirable idea, and one that is often adopted, usually resulting in new discoveries as well.
3. Customising Report
Agreed - the Child details are not chronologically added amongst the parent's facts.
4. Fact Witnesses & Timeline Facts in all Reports
This would be an ideal scenario if we could persuade Calico Pie to implement it.
