I have just merged one database into another and I see that the Notes attached the Sources have not come accross. I have 2 questions:
1. Why have the notes not been transferred, and is there a way to ensure this happens.
2. If I need to retype the source notes into the merged database, I will need a list of the notes by Source Record. How do I construct such a query.
* Transfer of Source Notes when merging databases

Re: Transfer of Source Notes when merging databases
Can you gives a few more clues please.
You know what advice you consulted and what commands you used but we don't.
Everything you have chosen to transfer should transfer, but you may not have ticked all the right boxes.
Did you follow the glossary:merge_compare_files|> Merge/Compare File advice?
When merging, did you check all the tabs: Individuals, Families, Notes, etc, but especially the Sources tab?
Exactly which Note field are you talking about.
Do you mean the Note box at the bottom of the yellow Sources For pane?
Do you mean the Note box at the bottom of the Source record Property Box?
Have you checked the All tab for replicated Note field instances, where the missing Note may reside.
If they exist, then as I suggested above, you did not choose to merge those Note fields.
If both the Current and New Source records had different Notes then I think both instances get preserved.

Re: Transfer of Source Notes when merging databases
Thanks for that advice. I've been spending time following it. I'll get back if I am still having problems.
