I have spotted a curious anomaly when sorting records in the Records Window
When one clicks on any of the Date columns (like Birth ,Marriage or Death), the columns are sorted in Descending order, with latest at the top.
Whereas clicking any other column like Individual Records or Place of Birth and records are sorted in Ascending order, which is similar to a the results list in a query window, when clicking on a dated column, will sort results in Ascending order
Is this a bug, deliberate, or possibly a hidden setting somewhere?

Re: Sorting in Records window
You can right-click on the heading and choose Sort Ascending or Sort Descending. You have probably selected Descending in the past.
You can also hold down the alt key while clicking on the heading and the order is reversed. Although this doesn't seem to work if you have previously set Descending as the default, oddly.

If you Right Click on any column heading in the records window and choose "Configure Columns", you can choose/change the default sort order for any column (As well as being able to add extra columns)

John & Lorna,
Thanks for pointing me in right direction, the columns were configured as Descending
Lorna when the right-click sort order is chosen, it is not stcky, and order reverts to configuration setting on next click, but I’ve learnt something new.
Thanks

Well, it worked for me. Set descending order, Alt-clicked and it went to Ascending orderLornaCraig wrote: You can also hold down the alt key while clicking on the heading and the order is reversed. Although this doesn't seem to work if you have previously set Descending as the default, oddly.

Re: Sorting in Records window
Yes, in haste I had forgotten that the right-click sort order is not the same as making a permanent change in the "Configure Columns", sorry. I was thinking it was a short cut to the same end. ( If you use right-click to reverse the order then the alt key method doesn't change it back, you have to change it again with another right-click option. Odd, but unimportant. )

Re: Sorting in Records window
That reverse sort by pressing the Alt key while clicking the column Heading is a feature that applies throughout FH for almost every tabulated list, such as Query Result Set, Tools > Work with Data lists, but not the Facts tab.
