PDF files in Media

I want to add a newspaper entry in pdf format as a piece of media. I can add the link to the appropriate file but FH cannot open the pdf file and just shows a pdf icon in the media viewing dialogue box. Is there anyway that I can view a pdf file as a piece of media in FH? Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

If I double click on that pdf icon, FH opens the file (outside of FH) with my default pdf program, in my case Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Alternatively you could use a graphics editor to convert that pdf file to an image (eg .jpg) that will open within FH. Not so easy if it's a multi page document of course.

Thanks David, I use Adobe Acrobat Reader as well. I have found a pdf to jpg converter that is suitable for my needs - I have a relative that died shortly before the end of the first world war and as an officer his details form part of a pdf file that I have downloaded. Thinking outside the box I will use the facility to zoom in a particular face to ezoomin on his details.
Thanks again for you quick response.

I've moved this to the FH General Usage Forum as it is not really a Research topic.
This question is quite common and covered by how_to:v4:adding_multimedia|> Adding Photographs and Other Multimedia under Adding Other Media.

You can use fhugdownloads:contents:pdf2jpg|> Utility ~ PDF To Image File Converter to convert multipage PDFs to graphic files.
