Individual index cards

Good afternoon all,
back after too long away from my family research. I am wondering is there any way to print out individual records which would show what information is already recorded in FH and thus what still needs to be found. Ideally printed to index cards if possible. Essentially just trying to avoid writing out each individual to save time but it may be the only way.
Any help appreciated, thanks in advance
Derek

You could set up a custom report to print them, or use a query to generate the data and then use Word and a mail merge to get them out, I am interested why you would want printed index cards?

Just remembered, see fhugdownloads:contents:6x4_record_card_-_with_sources|> Report Type ~ 6x4 Record Card - with Sources.

FH should be able to assist in finding what you want without committing anything to paper.
Jut explain in a bit more detail your criteria, and we should be able to suggest how to proceed.

Thank you all for your replies.
Essentially I'm looking for a quick, convenient way to list my ancestors and have to hand what items of research are missing. ie, have I checked all the census returns that are applicable, or have I ordered all relevant certificates etc? Having a hard copy like this would, for me I think, be a quicker way to ensure I try and cover all possible areas.
I have just downloaded the 6x4 custom report, and after a brief look, it seems that it may well be just what's needed.
Again, grateful thanks
Derek

There are ways of managing that research within FH, since it is something we all regularly need to perform.
Firstly, you can list all relevant Individuals in a Named List and add Notes regarding what needs to be researched.
There are more options given in how_to:create_work_in_progress_or_research_to_do_lists|> Create Work In Progress or Research To Do Lists.
There are the Plugins Lookup Missing Census Facts and Lookup Missing BMD Records that are specifically designed to help research missing facts & sources.
There are also many Queries in fhugdownloads:index|> Downloads and Links to help review such missing facts & sources.
However, I recognise that we all work differently and that you may prefer paper records.

Brilliant! As said earlier, I've been away from this for what seems ages, but clearly there are now other ways for me to look at. Thanks for this, I will now look and see how I can use plugins.
