How to Present the Family Tree?

Bit of an odd question. My brother in law (who has never shown any interest in his/my wife's genealogy) called me and asked if he could "get a copy" of his genealogy in .pdf Form or something... I said, well hmm, pdf probably wouldn't work since it would probably be hard to follow. I thought about about just giving him his gedcom from ancestry.com that I maintain. I'm just not sure how to give it to him with pictures, docs, etc.

Anyone else have this kind of question, and how did you take care of it?

Have a look at tribalpages.com. Their basic site is free, but you are limited to number of associated photos you can load. You just upload a Gedcom file, and Tribalpages does the rest. For a small annual fee, you can upgrade, to allow more.
I have two trees on there currently (neither with photos unfortunately), one paid for and one free, and I use them as backup for my research, and to share with my relatives, just as you wish to do. You’re free to check them out (see links below).

If your FH file and associated documents are large (mine is ~25,000 individuals) then you cannot do it easily. I think you need to find out what he actually wants. I often get a question and people usually want to see their bit of the tree or how they are related to someone else, so you can just run an ancestor diagram or individual report and save it as a pdf. If they want the lot (as my brother-in-law did) then the only way is for them to purchase a copy of FH then you can give them a full back up file to restore and periodically update it. Such questions made me use FH's make a web site facility which I now have and people seem to be happy with that. My web site is at http://www.wilkinsonransomefamilytree.co.uk/

I find for people with a "new" interest, an Ancestors by Generation report and an All relatives diagram with 1 generation down from each ancestor with a simple text scheme, is as much as they can take in.

I also include any interesting characters outside of the range as individual narrative reports. For example in my Husband's family an Aunt by marriage was killed by her second husband and the husband of a Great Aunt was killed in the sinking of a hospital ship which was the subject of a war trial.

I suggest the first thing is to discuss with him what really is his interest.
Maybe all he needs is a few summary Reports and Diagrams in PDF format.
Alternatively, he may be wanting to start his own family history research and so needs a GEDCOM file & Images.
With clearer objectives we can suggest appropriate options.
