Avoid Page Boundaries in Default settings?

Post by Forpm » 24 Jul 2018 07:50

Hi,
Is there a way of setting "avoid page boundaries" in the default settings, so that every diagram that is produced automatically avoids page boundaries?

I am still using FH 5.011.

Sorry, that is not possible, not even in FH V6.

Can you explain the scenario in which you find that setting necessary.
I guess it is because you want to print to multiple sheets of paper?

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply.

It's only because I use it all the time with the Ancestors and Descendants diagrams, so that the pdfs don't ever cut through someone's face or box on the far right.

Only a small thing, as I'm happy to click on the icon each time.

Was just wondering.

Thanks.

If you are producing PDF files then you don't need the avoid page boundaries setting, because the entire Diagram can be saved as a single PDF page file. See how_to:creating_a_single_page_pdf_of_a_diagram|> Single Page PDF of a Diagram for details.

Yes, I do that, but quite often these pdfs end up being well over 4000mm wide, so it creates 2 or sometimes 3 pages.

Have you tried all the techniques suggested in the [kb]|[/kb] as it is possible to go up to 5080mm x 5080mm by using one of the free PDF Utilities instead of Family Historian PDF, or by adjusting the Scaling or other dimensions &/or text font, etc.

I'll try the other pdf drivers/creators.

Many thanks for the suggestions.
