Re: new upgrade for FH6 which is 6.2.7.
I have tried a number of times to upgrade to the latest version.
When doing so I get a message saying it will close FH. That is fine but eventually I get another message saying it is still open.
I know it is closed but couldn't go any further so had to cancel the upgrade.
With the link shown on this thread I prompted it knowing FH is closed. Unfortunately I still get the error messages so have not been able to upgrade FH.
Does anyone know how to get round this? Or has anyone else had the same problem
Victor

Victor, don't use any of the FH Help > Check for Updates auto-update methods as they are prone to errors.
Don't rely on the installation process to close all running copies of FH.
Double-check that you have no copies of FH running in any accounts on your PC.
If in any doubt, then use the Task Manager to ensure FH is not running.
It may be a good idea to Shutdown and Reboot the PC to make sure no rogue FH process is running.
Download and Save the installation file from https://www.family-historian.co.uk/down ... ee-upgrade as explained in fhugdownloads:contents:family_historian_6.x.y_upgrade|> Family Historian Version 6.2.7 Upgrade.
I suggest you right-click the downloaded installation file ƒh icon and choose Run as administrator from the dropdown menu as explained in the how_to:family_historian_installation_problems|> Family Historian Installation Problems Introduction.

I assume you have downloaded a fresh copy of the V6.2.7 installation file.
Open FH and close it again in case something got stuck.
Did you actually use Task Manager to check for FH processes?
Are you using an Administrator account or a Standard User account?
If the latter then sign-out and use an Administrator account.
If all else fails, then uninstall FH and install from your original V6 installation media using licence keys for V6 and if it was an upgrade from V5 then the V5 licence keys too.
