Search for Orphans query

Post by SpencerDudeUK » 20 Jun 2018 08:02

I have used the extremely useful 'Search for Orphans' query to find unrelated individuals, etc., but find that there are some people in the list that shouldn't be there...? My son and my brother, for instance. They are input correctly, as far as I can tell, so is there a way of interrogating the system to find out why they're there?

Everybody will appear in the result set -- you need to check the 'Pool number' to see which groups of individuals are related. Pool 1 will usually be everyone related to the Root individual for example; people with other pools numbers will be related to people in the same pool but not to people in other pools.

OK. Then I apologise for the silly question - still getting to grips with how Family Historian is put together...

The only silly questions are the ones you don't ask and should have asked... or so my first teacher taught me.

Just an extra hint, when running any standard query, if you click on the General Tab you will get a description of what the query shows.
