Witnesses

After watching the video I've just started using the Witness 'fact' (found on the little cog wheel) which I'm finding a great timesaver, however some of the names which I've added as not being on the database actually do turn out to be relatives when I've done further research therefore they will be on the database. Is there any way of locating these names so that they appear as witness/informant in their property box, or is it better if I add an 'unrelated individual' to the database if I suspect that they will appear later on?
Hope that this makes sense, I'm not always very good at explaining things!

Yes, it is something of a dilemma.
The options are:
- Use the Witness Name Only and later add an Individual record.
Remove the Witness Name Only and add Witness for Individual.
BTW: Edit > Find with Search for the Name and only Other Fields ticked will find any Witness Name Only items.
- Add an Individual record and add them as a Witness.
Later delete that Individual record (which deleted the Witness item) and add a Witness Name Only.

Thank you Mike, I had a feeling that it wouldn't be straightforward.

Mike - this presumes that you know the name. Is there an easy way to get a list of all Witness Name Only items?

Yes, see
Witness reporting (11976) for a Plugin.
Also a
Fact Query with
Columns for
%FACT._SHAN[1]%,
%FACT._SHAN[2]%, et seq...
Rows filter for
Exclude if %FACT._SHAN[1]% is null

Thanks Mike - I did search the forum for "witness name only" but drew a blank. I thought that there must be a query or plugin somewhere but didn't fancy trawling through all the results for "witness".
