* Link to Face problems

I have been extensively adding photos to my tree, but have come across the following issue (which may be just me, but there?)

I select a photo in the media list and, if applicable, assign links to the faces in it - all good so far.

Now, when I visit an individual covered by that photo, sure enough, the whole photo is there, but if it's not in the photos displayed alongside the name at the top of the record, when I use the arrows to bring it into view, I just get a blank white thumbnail. I then have to double-click the image and press link to face, whereeupon I get a message "relink to face?". When done, it's fine - and so are all the other links in that photo...you only seem to have to correct one link to get the rest to work (in that photo).

This is happening in the vast majority of cases for me. Has anyone else experienced this? Am I doing something incorrectly?

I confirm that I can replicate that odd behaviour. However I think it only occurs when the Show Face icon in the Media tab of the individual's Property Box has not been selected. This option has the effect of showing just the frame rather than the whole picture in the Media tab.
If you click that icon before linking the frame to the person, the display is OK when you move the picture up the preferences list until it shows in the Focus Window.

I see. Thanks for your response. However, I have been adding the Frame Links from the Media list display pane, and that icon is not there...?

...but it does seem to work when you get back to the Property Box - I'll give it a go. Thanks again

That setting will apply to all Property Boxes, so you only need to do it once.

That is a minor bug that needs to be reported to Calico Pie.
Use the how_to:about#problem_reporting|> Problem Reporting technique.

The bug report must emphasise that Tools > Preferences > Focus Window > Max. Pictures of Focus Person at Top of Window must be set less than the number of Media tab images to be attached to the Individual.
Also that the Media tab Show Faces button must be off.
Add the new Media image and add the Link to Face.
Then the Higher/Lower Preference arrow buttons exhibit the problem in the Focus Window image.

It does not matter whether the Media image and Link to Face are added via the Media Window or directly via the Media tab of the Individual.
