Hi. I'm confused by the boxes under the 'more (+) section, which appear to be very useful when you look at the help topic, but when do they get used?
I have - and I'm sure lots of people have - generations or families with the same name, so I thought I could use 'Sr' and 'Jr', etc., and/or Nicknames/Given Name Used, etc. to differentiate between them. Trouble is, these field don't appear anywhere (unless they're exclusively for reporting)...any suggestions, or other ways to get around same names for ensuring you're attaching media/sources to the correct person, etc.?

You can add them any where you want using the Text schemes on diagrams and by adding as columns, see the response to your other question.

Re: Given Name Used/Name Suffix Fields
Yes, by default they mostly only get used in Reports.
They do all appear in the All tab and Records Window by expanding the Name field.
They can be added as Columns in the Records Window. See how_to:customising_record_window_columns|> Customise or Print Records Window Columns.
Most can be included in the Caption above the Property Box by using Tools > Preferences > Property Box > Captions button, and replacing %INDI% with %INDI.NAME:ADORNED_FULL%.
Anything added after the /Surname/ in the Primary Name field appears almost everywhere.
But ensure Tools > Preferences > Property Box > Show Surnames Between Slashes is Always, otherwise you risk adding that suffix to the /Surname/ itself.

Re: Given Name Used/Name Suffix Fields
OK. It appears that Name Prefix and Name Suffix work well with that, but not the Nickname or Given Name Used. Still, that was useful.
I must say that responses from this forum are friendly and helpful. Thanks for the help

Re: Given Name Used/Name Suffix Fields
To put the nick name in the caption add %INDI.NAME.NICK%.
Here is the caption I use:
=CombineText(" ",%INDI.NAME.NPFX%,"")=CombineText(" ",%INDI.NAME:GIVEN%,"")=CombineText(" ",%INDI.NAME:MIDDLE%,"")=CombineText(" ''",%INDI.NAME.NICK%,"''","")=CombineText(" ",%INDI.NAME:SURNAME%,"")=CombineText(" ",%INDI.NAME.NSFX%,"") [=Relationship(FileRoot(),,TEXT,1)] [%INDI.NAME:SOUNDEX%] [=RecordId()]
