This may well be 2 Q's or perhaps more in this post and appreciate your patience with me.

So I think that I have incorrectly added Mary Smith as a non married spouse whereas in census she was always a servant for 1830 (local incumbent census), 1851 and 1861. Please see chart below and I will do my best to elaborate.

So I would like to show her as not a peer but as a servant.

So on this thread I remove Mary as per below:-

Now I have a chart as follows:-

Record gone but box still there; what am I doing wrong?

So my second part of the Q I will add as a separate thread as there would appear to be a limit of 3 attachments per thread.

Although you have deleted the Individual record for Mary SMITH, the Family record for her partnership with Thomas BROOK still exists.

Open the Focus window with Thomas BROOK in Focus, and click on the blue bar that spans underneath Thomas BROOK and the blank wife/partner box where Mary SMITH use to be.
That will open the Family record Property Box, which will have some Facts or Status details.
If you wish to remove all that, then click the Go To Record button above that has a red arrow, and Delete that record.

BTW: You can add more than 3 images to one thread, but only 3 per posting.
