Historic Picture Posting in Published Book category

Post by Taterbug » 23 May 2018 20:09

Is there a way to Post only pictures on a sheet in above, perhaps 2 columns by 6 high of historical pictures.
Not always associated to an individuals record, or, perhaps associated to many names at the same time.
Some pic's may only be of historic locations associated with a family name.

I think of a blank sheet with predefined spots which will re-size to fit the defined layout.
The results become part of the index at the back of the book, though, which is nice for publishing purposes.

Of course, I can always create my own picture layout external to FH and paste it into the book on the Free Text page.
But nothing becomes linked by using this method.
Is there other suggestions, ideas or solutions I'm not aware of, yet.
Thanks

A useful method for this is to create a chart using the "Blank Diagram" option on the View>Diagram menu. You can add as many images as you want using the insert Picture tool and resize and add captions to in and save it as a chart and add it to the book.

If you want multiple pages in one section of the book you can use one chart if you want to spread them through use a chart for each one.

Take a look at how_to:report_content_multimedia_format_layout#book_free_page_content|> Book Free Page Content that explains Jane's suggestion in more detail.

That would allow any arrangement of pictures and caption text.

Nothing will get entered in the Index of the Book, but each page will have its 'Chart' title in the Contents section.
