When one creates the report pages of above report names the Spouse is always generated one below the other. This is very nice when the "tree" is vertical.
However, I like to make Ancestor trees left to right, and would like to print/display husband/wife side-by-side for condensing this on standard 11" high by 8.5" wide standard printer paper. the result is a much more condensed report where one family fits nicely on a single page, usually.
Is there any way to change the report structure to side-by-side horizontally instead of the default vertical output?
Am using latest FH ver 6.2.6

Welcome to the FHUG.
If you are a newcomer to FH then please study how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers and follow its links to other [kb]|[/kb] pages.
It is not clear how experienced you are in using FH, so I will assume you are a relative novice, and apologise if I am wrong.
I believe you are talking about Diagrams and not Reports.
Before inserting Diagrams into Books it is advisable to experiment with producing Diagrams independently first.
When the desired custom options have been discovered, use Diagram > Save Diagram As > Custom Diagram Type to preserve those settings for reuse in the Book.
The default Diagram Options > General tab Orientation is Top-down, and Left-right is an alternative.
However, I don't understand your description of the position of the Spouses.
In Top-down format the Spouse boxes are side-by-side horizontally not "one below the other".
Conversely, in Left-right format the Spouse boxes are one below the other by default.
Are you perhaps talking about the Diagram Options > General tab Spouse display options?
When One box per marriage is chosen, then the Spouse details are indeed "one below the other".
BUT that only applies to Descendant Diagrams and NOT Ancestor Diagrams.
Have you already customised the Text Scheme to only display the Names of Individuals?
If so, then it should be possible to customise Spouse Names to be side by side.
When there is a clearer understanding of your objectives, perhaps with a screenshot of what you have achieved to date, then more specific options can be considered.

I will follow your directions and create screen-shots if that applies,
or I cannot achieve the results I would like, then I will reply here.
I've got some extremely pressing issues in programming and automation
not related here, so I cannot give you the satisfaction of complete
feedback of the results of manipulating FH 'reports' to my satisfaction.
Or to your satisfaction.
I've got a computer science degree, so I should be able to figure this out
given enough time and effort, after all we are related if we go back
far enough into the genealogy roots of the last name alone.
