Welcome to the FHUG.

I suspect you are talking about Tools > Work with Data > Source Types and the list associated with Source record Type field.
Simply enter it into the Type field of the Source record, just like entering any other data.

The Tools > Work with Data > Source Types list is simply like an index compiled from actual values in Source records.
It is NOT a separate database list that can be edited.
