Delete descendants and spouses

Importing from another genealogy program (in my case MyHeritage Family Tree Builder) can be very frustrating. In order to keep an oversight, I try to work with small parts. This should make it easier to correct before merging into my project.

I wanted to add the descendants of a forefather, who had much more children than only the one I descended from! So, in MH, I made an export file. This also included the sub branch with my direct ancestor.

When trying to split that Gedcom in order to remove my "own" family, the split tree helper gives me the possibility to delete all the individuals found with the query "descendants", but in the result all the spouses are still there!

There is also a query "descendants (custom), but I don't know how to edit it. Could anybody help me out? I tried to understand how to edit a query, but somehow I don't get it.

Tx in advance.

A simple trick for this one is to unlink the branch you want to remove. Then use the Search for Orphans query with the spilt tree to remove the branch you don't need, or just export the descendants of the top ancestor, now your branch no longer is included.

I first tried it with your attachment. Works. This is what I needed.

Many thanks !!
