Hi,
I discovered that an ancestor was previously married and that my lineage (several persons below this link) should descend from the previous wife, not the second wife.
Can someone please provide the exact steps I need to follow to do this?
I searched, but cannot find this topic... but, I am not that familiar with this site.
Thank you for the assistance

Rick,
1. If you have not already done so, add the other partner/spouse as a new spouse of the husband.
2. Then in the Focus Window right click on each child under the incorrect couple and select Unlink Record.
3. Then in the Focus Window click on Add Child under the correct couple and choose Link Existing Record. Then from the list select the child and click on OK.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each child.
That should take care of it.

Rick,
As Bill said, but I’d link each child to the new father/mother pair before unlinking him/her from the old father/mother.
This is because they then remain on the screen (under the old father), as a visual reminder who still needs to be moved to the new father. If you unlink them first, you have to make careful notes of who they are so they can all be re-linked.
It is surprising how often one has to do this during one’s research
NB Don’t worry that the child shows two fathers for a while, this will not be a problem for FH

And that is just one of the techniques listed under how_to:index#adjusting_family_relationships|> Adjusting Family Relationships.
