Foster Parents

Post by ajc2966 » 16 Feb 2018 13:20

One of my great grandparents was fostered from birth. I do know his mother's name and he is linked to her (no father as he was illegitimate) already. In an 1881 census he was fostered by one family, in 1891 census he was fostered by a different one, then he disappears until I find a marriage record and find him again in the 1939 census. My question is how can I show him with two different foster families?

This is not really a Research problem, but a FH General Usage problem.

See how_to:recording_children_with_foster_adoptive_parents|> Recording Children with Foster/Adoptive Parents and just repeat for both foster parents, so the 'child' has three sets of parents: his mother, 1st foster parents, and 2nd foster parents.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. As a newbie wasn't sure where my query should go. Thanks again.

Sorry, didn't spot that you had only just joined. It's been a busy day!

Welcome to the FHUG.

As a newcomer I suggest you study how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers and its links into the rest of our [kb]|[/kb] advice.
