Hi:
When using the "Search the Internet" option, I would like my Family Historian to always default to one of the web site options in the drop-down list. In my case, Family Search. I cannot seem to find a way to make this happen. So, each time I do a search, I have to scroll down and select that option. Am I missing some option to make particular options in the list my default choice?
Thanks

Re: Internet Search
Hi Don, I have moved this to the FH General Usage Forum because the User Group Forum as it says is for "Suggestions and requests for help on using this site. For help with Family Historian please post in the General Usage Forum."
There are a number of options to adjust the Internet > Search the Internet features and other considerations.
In its dialogue click More>> bottom right and you can Delete or Hide the Websites you don't use and thus shorten the scroll list.
Once you have opened the Family Search site in the internal Web Search Window then click the cog menu next to the address bar and choose Bookmark this page as explained in the Help page obtained by clicking F1 key.
Thereafter, when using Internet > Search the Internet in top Show box select Bookmarks Only to show only bookmarked sites.
That continues to work even if Use External Browser is ticked.
The internal Web Search Window uses Internet Explorer 11 and the Family Search site doesn't fully support that, as you know from your Internal Browser - Family Search Web Site (15574) posting.
So you may be better using another external fully supported browser and bookmark Family Search there.

Re: Internet Search
Hi:
Sorry about posting in the wrong forum. Thanks for the directions for adjusting the search functions. I have already decided that the external browser works best for me, but it had not occurred to me to hide the other search options. I also had not paid attention to the gear symbol on the internal browser since I had early on moved to the external browser.
Thanks again.
