* Query to list immediate ancestors

I have been attempting (without much luck) to create a query which will list my Immediate ancestors, by which I mean:
Grand parents, Great Grand parents, Great Great Grandparents, etc., back as far as they go, without uncles, aunts, cousins and all the rest.

I have not been having much luck with the correct Expressions, and would greatly appreciate some help from a kind soul.

There is a standard query called Ancestors. Is that what you are looking for?

What Bill said is correct, but it has been deliberately made flexible, so you have to choose your starting person each time.

This niggled me so I created a 2 line query to always use my tree root as follows:

1: On Rows tab General tab: Add if =IsSameItem(,FileRoot()) is true [This adds Tree Root person to resultset]
2: On Rows tab Relations tab: Add if ancestor of anyone in resultset. [This adds all direct relations of Tree Root]
[On query relations tab. Set condition=Addif, Set Relationship= Ancestor ; Set Max Generationas as required]

Stupid me! I missed the Ancestor query and tried to use the different Relative queries.

I have also incorporated the refinements suggested by Mike.
