Non-existent, unlinked media

Post by Orijohnal » 09 Dec 2017 12:57

I have some media files that do not exist and have no links but they appear on the Media List
How do I get them off the list?

The short answer is that you select them and hit the Delete key, but that may be the wrong advice :?

John, exactly what do you mean?
  1. Are you looking at the Records Window on its Media tab and viewing the Media records?
  2. Are you looking at the Media Window and viewing the Media records?
  3. Are you looking at Tools > External File Links?
When you say they have no links, are you talking about 1. above having 0 in the Links column?

Or are you saying in 2. or 3. above that there is a large X against the Media?

What a dope. All that mousing around and all I had to do was hit DEL. Are there any more 'hidden' short cut keys?

Thanks again, Mike. You can take the rest of the day off.

All the 'hidden' short-cut keys are in the FH Help cunningly disguised under under Keyboard and Mouse Shortcuts.

The Delete key is a short-cut to the Edit > Delete command as explained in how_to:delete_a_large_number_of_records|> Delete Any Number of Records.
