Re: Re-marriage - between the same couple
There are various ways to record the two Marriages depending on your understanding of what actually happened.
In the 2nd Marriage the wife's surname is SPRACKLEN so it looks like it may be some form of confirmation of vows.
Alternatively, it may be due to a change in religion, and marriage in the new church denomination.
Not sure if the /s on 2nd Page Number is significant. It might be a form of re-registered supplement to the Certificate?
See What is the reason for a page number with a suffix letter S?
You may get a clearer indication from the Marriage Certificates.
However, if you believe the couple continued to live together throughout, then simply add a 2nd Marriage Event for the same couple, in the same way you would multiple Census or Occupation facts with different Dates.
BUT, if it is simply a correction to original Certificate, then just add a 2nd Source Citation to original Marriage Event.
On the other hand, if you believe the couple parted company, or formally separated, and perhaps lived with another partner, then you may have to add a 2nd Spouse/Partner tab for the other partner, then a 3rd Spouse/Partner tab for the original partner, and add the 2nd Marriage Event to this last Family partnership. See how_to:recording_children_other|> Recording Children for Multiple Partnerships as an example of the multiple family scenario.
The difference between the above two approaches is that:
1) There is only one Family as Spouse relationship record with two Marriage Events in that one record.
2) There are two or more Family as Spouse relationship records with at most one Marriage Event per record.
If you discover any intervening facts such as formal Separation papers, then those facts can be added as Family facts too.
