Copying book settings from one project to another
Hi, I have created several 'books' in my main project (my own family) but have been working on a new project for a friend. I'd like to create a book for her now too, preferably using the same fonts, colours, sizes etc from my own project (see pic), without having to set them all up in the new project. Is this possible? Thanks.

Re: Copying book settings from one project to another
That is a good question Deirdre.
I presume you are aware that all the underlying Diagram and Report types are available to all Projects, so it is Book specific settings that need transferring as they are unique to each Project.
I suggest that first you create a dummy book for just the settings.
Use Publish > Books > Clone to create a book called say Settings and delete all but its Contents and Index sections.
If your Project is named My Family then this Settings book is held in:
...\Family Historian Projects\My Family\My Family.fh_data\Books\Settings\
So use File Explorer to copy that folder and its contents to your new Project in its ...\Books\Settings\ folder.
Then in FH use the Clone button again to create each new Book from the Settings book.

Brill, thanks Mike, i'll give that a go.
I'd been running family group sheets to check the data (which did use my own settings) so i was surprised to see that the book came out in default settings.
Thanks again.

Just to say that this worked, so again, many thanks Mike. Much quicker and less frustrating than changing all the fonts and colours (though i may change one or two colours so it's not identical to mine).

I have added that advice to how_to:report_content_multimedia_format_layout#sharing_settings_across_projects|> Report Content, Media, Format and Layout > Sharing Settings Across Projects.
