Unicode?

I'm trying to incorporate some unicode symbols into my diagram.

*, ~, and ✝ work just fine.

⚭ and ⚰ do not. They render as boxes.

They appear to work here on my screen. I've tried to find them using CharMap, but while I can cut and paste from my source, the search for the symbol in CharMap doesn't turn up anything, a search for the Unicode U+26AD doesn't turn up anything either. Is Unicode not uniformly supported?

Stewart, it depends on which Font you choose to use.
Unicode is an international standard, but it offers an enormous range of characters including all the Greek, Asian, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic, and many other characters and symbols.
So not every Font supports every Unicode character.
e.g.
The Diagram default Font shown at top of Edit Text Scheme dialogue is Arial and does NOT support ⚭ and ⚰.
Whereas the Tahoma Font does support those symbols.

When using the Character Map tool, ensure the Font chosen at the top matches the Font used in your Diagram or Report, etc.

That did the trick.

When I set the "Initial Font" to Tahoma, I applied, saw no change, but then noticed there is a font= Arial in the Used Items block too. Once I changed that to Tahoma, it worked as I wanted it to.

Thanks.
