Individual Summary Report ~ Fact Media

Post by ataloss » 11 Aug 2017 14:46

Is there a way to get media (that is attached to a fact) to be in line with that fact in an Individual Summary Report printout, and not just anywhere on the righthand side of the fact entries ?

Sorry, no, not using FH itself.
You have to use Save Report As > Word-Processor Document (RTF) and edit it in a word-processor such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Writer, but it takes a while to get used to the format used by FH and move the images where you want them.

BTW: You are clearly using FH V6 so please update your FHUG Profile that shows on the right of your postings.
Click your username ataloss top right and choose User Control Panel.
Then on its Profile tab, select Family Historian V6.2 and scroll down to Submit.

Just another possibility to consider. I always attach my FACT images as Source documents and have my ISR settings configured to display each Source image on an individual page in the Sources section at the end of the report. I set the image size to 8x7, so that each image consumes as much of the entire page as possible (you can fine-tune the Margin settings as well).

As far as I am concerned, that approach is much easier than having to wrestle with the RTF conversion learning curve that Mike alluded to. I tried the RTF approach several years ago and threw-up my hands in frustration when trying to get images re-sized and re-positioned in WORD. So much easier to let FH arrange them in the Sources section.

Yes, that is the conventional approach, and the superscript on the Fact leads to the Source where the image is shown.

Ataloss

I have found to add flexibility to the individual report, instead I use the narrative report and sentences so that it looks like a punchy fact by fact individual report, see:
