FAMILY HISTORIAN LINKS TO FMP

Post by babayaga321 » 23 May 2017 21:19

Hi All.

I've been doing some work with Find My Past over the last few days and have noticed a discrepancy in the 'Hints' which appear in the web view of FH and also FMP when viewed in an external browser.

For example, I checked the record for my F.I.L. in FH and he has three 'My Heritage' links showing, with nothing for FMP. In FMP on the web browser however, there are two hints available for him.

Also, I updated eight FMP hints on an ancestor from within FH, and either rejected or accepted them. I've noticed in viewing the same individual in FMP from within a web browser that six of them have not been updated and are still visible.

Is there a delay between the two systems for the records to be updated, or is there perhaps an issue we should be aware of?

Cheers - Graham. (FH v6.2)

I believe the two mechanisms are completely distinct.

I assume you have a Family tree on FMP and are reviewing the Hints raised against people on that tree.

If you follow the dialogue, the Reject and Review processes involves different presentations and options in the native FMP pages compared to the FH derived pages.

FMP has a Maybe state and FH does not.
FMP after the Review stage and selecting Yes has a Merge option that FH does not.

FH only has a simple two state Accept or Reject.

Although they both use the same user Sign In the two Hints databases are separate, because I suspect the FH database is keyed to the User Credentials explained in how_to:internet_data_matches|> Internet Data Matches.
