COMPLETED - Recording an Award/Medal

Post by Ron1951 » 28 Apr 2017 21:03

Hi folks,
I have tried to find an answer regarding this subject (honestly! ;) ) but failed.
Is there a way of entering the details of an award or medal, so that the initials appear after the name, e.g. OBE etc? I am using V6.2.4
Many thanks.
Ron

When you ad details to a name there is a 'more' button on the end of the persons name. Click this and a box will appear put wehat you want in either the Suffix or Prefix box
These will appear against the persons name

The easiest way to ensure it appears almost everywhere by default is to append it to the Name field.
BUT you need to to take care that the Surname is not disturbed.
So, use Tools > Preferences > Property Box and set Show Surname Between Slashes to Always.
Then you can ensure the Name field uses the form John /Smith/ OBE.

Unfortunately, the more (+)... fields such as Prefix and Suffix do NOT appear on the Name by default everywhere.
They appear in some Reports but not Focus Window, Records Window, Property Box, or Diagrams although sometimes they can be added by customisations.
