* Spouse problems ;-)

Some times spouse boxes do this (see attached picture) and I am not able to realign them. I have redrawn and loaded a new saved chart. Tried to make boxes same height et cet - but I am not able to realign them.

If I start from scratch again - they are nicely realigned - but then I will have lost several hours of formatting the chart.

Is there a way to realign those boxes?

My guess is that you have the alignment of the boxes set to Bottom. If you go to the menu for Diagrams > Options you will find the Alignment in the right top corner of the General Tab - try changing Bottom to Top to see if that gives you the layout you want.

Sorry Brian, but it is not the Alignment, because if it was set to Bottom then the Icon would be above the Box.

One simple way to tidy up Box sizes & alignment is to use the Diagram > Layout & Scaling options.
To restrict its action to a few boxes, select those boxes, and use the Make Selected Boxes the Same Height/Width... options.
BTW: To select multiple boxes, hold down Ctrl key, while clicking on the boxes required.

Aah, didn't know that as I don't use icons! On the other hand I did say it was a guess

If you right-click the box that is misaligned, you can select 'Align With Others in Same Row'. Does this help?

Thanks for the suggestions. The solution i found was using "box states" Align with other boxes in same row - and I would guess using the right mouse button command also

By the way - if you use the alignment box in the general tab as suggested in the first response and change it - all the Icon shift to the top!!

Klaus, that Diagram > Box States > Align With Others in Same Row option should be ticked by default.

I suspect in some other experiments you must have accidentally unticked it.

All those Box States options should be ticked except for Keep Near Parents and Hidden.
