I have found out that places have a Record Id number and places can be merged so far as I can see.
I have tried to find a Query standard and tried to make a custom where the list included the Record Id number - but no luck so far and no help in Simon Orde's book.
Is it not possible or where is th list/function hidden?
Kind regards
Klaus Yde

Re: Record Id for places
It is exactly the same as for all other record types. You must use the =RecordId() function.
You will find examples in Records Window tabs and Queries for other record types.
To add it to the Records Window for Places tab, just use the usual method.
Right-click on any column heading and choose Configure Columns.
In the Configure Columns for ... dialogue, select Record Id on left and click > to add to Columns.
In a Query use a Column with =RecordId(...) where the parameter is a Place record data reference.

Thanks - got it working.
I was trying in this window to make a custom query but was not able to find a field to copy - to the list.
But if I understand You - I have to make an expression in the box at the bottom ??
I have tried to make such an expression - but couldn't get it working - what should I write to get it working?

Re: Record Id for places
As I said, you must use the =RecordId() function.
In a Place Query no function parameter is needed because by default it knows it is a Place record.
But to be pedantic it is =RecordId(%_PLAC%)

Hi Mike
Thanks for the quick answer and being pedantic
- it is sometime necessary for newbies as me. I can see that I was on the right path. My error was that I missed last % in my attempts.

Yes, and how_to:understanding_expressions|> Understanding Expressions gives =RecordId() examples right at the beginning as it is such a common request.
