Printing difficulties

Post by Jim » 01 Mar 2017 22:00

I have produced a descendants chart which occupies four A4 landscape pages. It looks fine on the screen, but when I try to print it, all I get is the lines - no boxes, no text, just the lines. I have tried everything I can think of by way of formatting in Diagram Options, but nothing seems to make any difference. Am I doing something wrong?

Jim, it would help if you gave us a few more clues.

Did it print Ok in the past with this current printer in the current version of Windows, or is this the first time you have tried?
It may be that the printer driver needs updating.

I assume that with the Diagram displayed you are using the File > Print command?

What is shown if you use the File > Print Preview command?

If you use Diagram > Save Diagram As > PDF File is the output PDF File OK?

Is your Descendant Diagram highly customised or close to Installation Settings?
If customised, then use Diagram > Save Diagram As > Custom Diagram Type to preserve the customisations.
Then in the standard Descendant Diagram use Diagram > Settings > Restore Installation Settings and try printing or just Print Preview if that exhibited the same problems.
