Add a 'To Do'Tab using 'Create a custom Attribute Aproach'

Post by Malchal » 10 Feb 2017 15:41

I have added. 'To Do' tab to the Individual Property Box using the 'Create. Custom Attribute Approach' in my project.
I click on the 'To Do' tab for an individual and I cannot work out how to actually enter any text!

Can anyone help please.

This is my first try at using the forums.

Thanks

Welcome to your first posting at the FHUG.

Ok, so you have seen the advice at how_to:create_work_in_progress_or_research_to_do_lists|> Create Work In Progress or Research To Do Lists but did you follow the link to the fhugdownloads:contents:fact_set_to_do_lists|> Fact Set ~ To Do Lists downloads with a preconfigured Fact Set, Property Box Tab, Queries and Report for you to install, or did you attempt to configure them manually?

If configured correctly the To Do tab should have a large Note box labelled To Do: or New paragraph for each Task into which you can type each task with suitable label headings such as Birth: , Census: , or Death: , and as illustrated in how_to:create_work_in_progress_or_research_to_do_lists#create_custom_tab|> Create Custom Tab.

Hi,

I believe that I have followed the procedure that you outlined.

I do have the 'To Do' Tab with the large text box but it will not accept text.

i have a Snagit screen grab of it but realise i do not know how to add an attachment to this post.

The other tabs work as normal! Main, Facts, Notes, Media.

Sorry to be so slow.

Hi, More thoughts,
I used the 'Create Custom Attribute' method but I did not go into the 'further refinements possible' section as at this early stage of learning I thought I might be out of my depth.
Cheers

Hi,

I've now installed a second 'To Do' tab using the 'download FHBT file' method thanks.

I'll now follow instructions for removing my dud attempt.

Looking at the new tab - for the prefix 'Birth: Death: etc., do I enter the prefix in the small text box by that reminder, or into the main text box?

Thanks.

Use the main box as illustrated in how_to:create_work_in_progress_or_research_to_do_lists#create_custom_tab|> Create Custom Tab under where it says New paragraph for each Task.

To attach an image use the Attachments tab below the Post a reply text box, or just drag it directly into the Post a reply text box.
