Narrative Descendants by Generation Report

I have an individual with the following details. Married first - 10 children. Unmarried partner second and another 10 children. Is there any way to ensure that the name of the individual is shown next to their reference number? eg on the second generation they are identified by their number eg 2 rather than number and name eg 2. George Barton. Or is there another report I can use that would do this for me? With so many children the report as it stands is difficult to follow.
Can I force the sentence concerning the unmarried couple to be on a new line? I have inserted a
on the marriage sentence but it does not work when the status is unmarried.

As far as I can see, the identification numbers always preceded each person's name in this report.
Can you post a screenshot to explain exactly what you find is missing.
Use the Attachments tab below the Post a reply text box to add image files.
You can add the [Record Id] to names, but I am not sure that helps you.
Have you tried the Family Group Sheet or perhaps just an Individual Narrative.
Since the Marriage Status is not a fact, it has no Sentence Template, so you cannot add a
.
You could untick the Option to Auto-Generate Sentences if Missing Facts to exclude the He had a relationship... text, but that can have other side-effects.
You could add a Family fact to the unmarried couple.
It may have to be a custom fact such as Liaison or Co-residence.
Then the He had a relationship... text is replaced by the Sentence Template for the custom fact, and that can have
.

In the first picture it would be good if I could make the (un)marriage fact go onto the next line for clarity. You can also see the list of the first 10 children.
On the second image, Second Generation, the individuals are identified by their previous number, but the reader is constantly having to go back and forth to the first page to find out which child each is.

My suggestions about the Marriage Status apply to the "...unmarried couple" text.
Your Second Generation posting makes the problem clear, thank you.
Usually, the name of each person does follow those numbers, so something in your customisation has upset the defaults.
The fact 'sentences' are a bullet list instead of the usual narrative 'sentences', so presumably you have heavily customised the Sentence Templates for all your facts.
I have changed my Birth fact Sentence Template to
* born {date} {place} <({age})> to get a similar list effect as yours, and because the {individual} code has been removed compared to the default, there is no name included in the Report. However, the earlier sections right from the beginning of my Report have no names either, so the problem is much more widespread. Do your reports have names anywhere earlier on or not?

Thanks Mike. I have customised my sentences to remove the name of he/she aspect because I feel that those are redundant aspects so I guess I have shot myself in the foot so to speak. Any suggestions as to a work around?

As you have removed the 'he/she' from sentences and prefer a bullet-point presentation you probably don't need to use a narrative style report. Have you considered using a Descendant Outline report? (Publish > Outline Reports > Descendant Outline)

That might indeed do it - can one alter the indent for each generation?

Yes, in
Report > Options > Page Layout tab alter the
Tab. Width setting on the right.
Also, assuming almost everbody has a
Birth Event try chnaging its
Sentence Template to something like
{individual}
* born {date} {place} so the name gets included wherever there is a birth event. Then you have not completely shot yourself in the foot
