Same Sex Marriage

I have not used FH in a long time due to other events in my life taking priority, however as my daughter got married recently I wanted to record her wife. I knew this was supported in FH6 so I upgraded from FH4 to FH6.2.2.
I found it was easy to enter her wife, but found a few strange things and am wondering if I need to set this up somewhere.
When I looked at the Spouse family record, her wife was shown correctly, but where I had entered my daughter's age it says Husband's age. Can this be corrected, they are both wives?

When I look at my daughter in law's record in the focus window it shows her as Partner of instead of Wife of. I have seen
Gay relationship (14089) which refers to the same problem with two husbands described as partners in a diagram and I know I can change the expression to make it say wife, but then if I later have two men who are married in the same tree it needs a different expression.
Does anyone know how to correct these two things?

Dave, use the FH Help > Search Help for Same Sex Relationships and check the first four topics.
As long as both spouses are linked with Wife tags, that is the best you can achieve.
The Marriage Event can only define the two Ages using Husband and Wife tags, but they are not very visible.
You cannot customise the relationship wording in the Focus Window.
However, I would have expected you to be the File Root and then the relationships are Daughter and Daughter-in-law.
You should be able to adjust the wording in Diagrams and Reports by using the new =Sex() function.
This typically takes the form =Sex( %INDI%, "husband", "wife", "partner" ) or =Sex(%INDI%, "son", "daughter", "child") and is governed by the Sex field for the Individual being Male, Female, or undefined.
If you get stuck, then ask again, but in some cases you may have to resort to post-editing the output.

Thanks Mike, good to know there are some familiar names on the forum after my long absence. I will look into the Sex() function.
I know what you mean about the two age tags not being very visible, I was really asking to see if anyone had found a way round it.
My son is currently the File Root, it allows me to easily create Ancestor Diagrams showing all my children's ancestors. So my daughter in law is listed as Partner of Sister of... Again I was hoping someone had a workaround for this.

Unfortunately, there is no way round the Husband Age tag, partly because it is bound into the Gedcom specification.
I suspect if you experiment, you can get good Diagrams as well as better Relationships with yourself as File Root.
To get good Diagrams try the following with you as File Root shown in the Focus Window.
Click on the Married bar below yourself & your wife so it is selected.
Choose Ancestor Diagram to display the same people as with your son as File Root apart from omitting your son.
Choose Ancestor and Descendant Diagram to display as above, but include your children, grandchildren & spouses.
(If you set Diagram > Options > General > Generations Down to 1 then only your children & spouses are included.)
Alternatively, select one of your children, and click the Ancestors tab in the Focus Window.
Many cases where you see Partner shown it is derived from the =Relationship(FileRoot(),%INDI%,TEXT,1) function.
But you can replace FileRoot() with %CUR_DGM_ROOT% in Diagrams and generally with Record(9,"I") where 9 is whatever Record Id you want as the root person.
In Reports where labels say Partner: there is no solution, or the solution is very complex..
