All connected persons custom query

Post by jclifford » 29 Nov 2016 18:47

Can anyone help me on how to add people connected by a witness relationship (both ways) to this query?

I presume that in the Rows tab I need to choose the General tab and enter an expression using %INDI.EVEN-WITNESS% but I am not sure how to build the expession.

Also how do you add Associated Persons?

The short answer is that it is extremely difficult if not impossible.

You refer to an All connected persons custom Query, and say this query, but have not attached that query so we can see how far you have got.

Certainly, %INDI.EVEN-WITNESS% is not the answer, because that refers to a custom Event called Witness that presumably you have invented and is nothing to do with Witness _SHAR tags. See Witness reporting (11976) for some ideas.

If by Add Associated Persons, you mean using a Rows filter to Add if an Individual appears in another Individuals ASSO tag, then that is definitely impossible with a Query. You need to write a Plugin to achieve that.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I am afraid it is short term memory loss - I must have modified the All Relatives standard query.

I have got what I wanted now by using two custom queries, both modifications of the standard query Witnessed Events, and adding the results to named lists.
