I was using Version 5 and was having a lot of problems. OK opening the gedcom file I wanted but when I wanted to display full tree or alter anything on the layout or display options, software seemed to hang up for ages or say not responding before eventually doing what it should. I decided to Get the latest version and I now have version 6.2 installed. Getting the same problem. I am running Windows 10 on a Lenovo idepad 300.
I even decided to start a new gedcom file but it did the same thing. Can anyone help?

Re: Slow and not responding
Hi Susan, can you please update your Family Historian Version shown on the right of your postings.
Click your username Susan_Needham top right of this web page and choose User Control Panel, and then on its Profile tab update the Family Historian version, and finally scroll to the bottom and click Submit.
Regarding the slow FH, it may be being interfered by either display drivers or other software on your PC.
What was changed shortly before the problem started?
There are some ideas you could try in how_to:family_historian_installation_problems|> Family Historian Installation Problems, in particular:
Introduction installation advice for Run as administrator, disable anti-virus, or use Safe Mode.
Error: Family Historian Stopped Working
Error: Family Historian Not Responding
Family Historian Installs But Won't Run Properly
The most likely candidates are anti-virus software, Trusteer Rapport, and printer or video drivers.
Have any of those changed or been updated recently?

Re: Slow and not responding
If you are only having problems in the diagrams, try setting your windows default printer to the Family Historian PDF printer.
If your default printer is offline, as the diagram routines "talk" to the printer drivers some combinations can cause hangups or crashes.

Yes, that is mentioned in a couple of the Installation Problems sections I referred to.
