Spouse display options

Post by pwe » 27 Oct 2016 19:19

When viewing a diagram I normally have spouse in own box. If I use "diagram" then "spouse display options" and then either "one box per marriage" or "no spouse info" I cannot get back to "spouse in own box" as this option is always greyed out. Is this correct or have I misunderstood?

I can only restore my diagram to spouse in own box by using "diagram options" then "spouse display options".

I cannot repeat that scenario Peter. The Spouses in own box option always exists.

What type of Diagram are you using: Ancestors, Descendants, All Relatives, etc ?

How do you apply the change? Exactly what buttons do you click?

I have just repeated the symptoms. I think it occurs in all diagram types (not tested exhaustively). Using the route via the Toolbar, Diagram > Spouse Display Options does result in the Spouse in Own Box option being greyed out after switching to another option.

As Peter says, it can be restored using Diagram > Options> General tab.

I assume this is a bug.

AH! Yes, I see what you mean.
That option has changed since FH V5 that allowed all three options at all times.
In FH V6 the Spouse in Own Box option is always greyed-out even when that option is in force.
Could that be a bug?

Lorna & Mike,
Thanks for confirming that I had found a problem rather than having a senior moment.
What should I do next? Report to Calico or will they pick it up from here?

Best report it to Calico Pie so it is logged in their support log.

I have received a prompt reply on this matter from Calico Pie.
They report that the problem is a bug that will be fixed.
To get around this problem in the meantime the "spouse options" button in the diagram toolbar or the "spouse display options" in the "diagram options" pane, can be used.
